Uneek Cargo – It’s a “must see”

When Cliff and Connie Walsh retired from their jobs in San Jose, like many others, they sought the slower, more relaxed life in Oregon, where they could pursue their artistic interests. The tried Grants Pass for a few years before discovering the much more relaxed atmosphere of North Curry County.

In making the move to be near the ocean and fresh air of Curry County, the Walsh’s packed their belongings into a huge cargo container and purchased a piece of property about a quarter mile south of Pacific High school on Highway 101.

Upon arriving at their new location in early 2006, the Walsh’s unloaded the huge container and through the magic of Cliff’s design and building skills, turned it into a working business that opened in July of 2006.

Uneek Cargo is a gift shop and gallery that features some unique items not found nearby. There are low maintenance “air plants” that need no soil, and some of them are mounted on hand crafted frames.

They have a large selection of Garden Art, one-of-a-kind bird houses made by Cliff, special seasonal scents and plug–in Kotta pots that emit wonderful fragrances, and a long list of other unique items that must be seen.

Uneek Cargo is open from Noon-5pm Friday through Monday, but if you are passing by during the other days of the week, in the daytime, don’t hesitate to stop and ring the big, old 1800’s era bell that Cliff restored. They will be glad to open up and let you browse in their “uneek” cargo container store.
